Inspections Lasmotec Surhuisterveen

Inspections

Lasmotec gives high priority to the quality of its welding and assembly work. We not only guarantee this through our own quality demands and specialist skills built up over the years, but also through testing and meeting various (inter)national laws and standards.

PED

New pressure vessels and pipes with a design pressure above 0.5 bar(g) must meet the requirements of the European Pressure Equipment Directive, also known as PED (2014/68/EU). This standard applies to the entire process of design, manufacture, final inspection and documentation. Pressure equipment is categorised according to pressure/temperature/diameter/medium. Each category has its different requirements that the manufacturer and/or the user must meet. Lasmotec has extensive experience in producing pressure equipment in accordance with the correct directives and ensures that its products are delivered to its customers in this way.

ASME / AD 2000

The above-mentioned PED directive and the CE marking, among other things, are the result of European regulations. Lasmotec is active worldwide and therefore outside of Europe where other laws and standards are relevant. The rules from the ASME standards are valid in the USA. Our eastern neighbours, the Germans, comply with standards for pipework from the AD Merkblätter (AD 2000). In addition to the various existing laws and standards, many others are bundled internationally in ISO standards, which apply throughout the world. Since its foundation, Lasmotec has a long history of experience with all these standards and, if required, can deliver its products to its customers or end users accordingly.

EN1935/2004 / FDA / EHEDG

Each manufacturer and/or supplier of food contact materials and end products thereof must be able to prove that their products are safe for use when brought into contact with food. Lasmotec has a long history in the food industry and delivers complete installations, skids or machines to this industry. At the EU level, the Regulation EN1935/2004, which sets out the requirements for all materials and articles that come into contact with food, is applicable. After meeting this regulatory requirement and prior to introducing the product to the market, the manufacturer must provide a written ‘Declaration of Compliance’ for the product ensuring that product complies with food safety requirements. In addition to compliance with EU regulation EN1935-2004, Lasmotec is familiar with the United States FDA Guidances. Furthermore, the EHEDG Worldwide Organisation is active and has set out in numerous documents how hygiene in the food processing industry must be handled. Lasmotec is familiar with all of these national and international requirements in its field of work and delivers its products to its customers or end users accordingly.

CE

Before a manufacturer can launch a product that must meet EU requirements into the market, the CE marking must be placed on the product. In many cases this takes place after inspection by an independent inspection body. A CE marking indicates that the product meets EU safety, health or environmental requirements. This not only applies to Lasmotec’s piping systems, but also to machine construction, among other things.

VCA**

VCA is the Dutch standard in healthy, safe and sustainable working methods. This is a tried and tested programme in which various Dutch industrial sectors have bundled their knowledge and experience in this field. VCA is intended for companies such as Lasmotec that consider safe and healthy working methods important and want to make structured investments. Lasmotec has been VCA* certified for many years and switched to VCA** in 2016. All Lasmotec’s employees have a personal VCA certificate.

SCIOS 7A

Stringent requirements are in place for gas pipes. According to the Dutch Activities Decree, gas pipes must be inspected after installation. The independent SCIOS certification regulations are applicable in the Netherlands. Lasmotec can deliver its gas pipes to its customers in accordance with the SCIOS scope 7A for piping systems. The NEN-EN 15001 or NEN-EN 1775 standards can also apply to gas pipes and for larger pipes the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) can come into play.

WELDING

Welding procedures and welders at Lasmotec are multiple-certified. For example, we hold Welding Method Qualifications in accordance with EN-ISO 15614-1, and ASME IX. Welders are certified in accordance with EN-ISO 9606-1, EN-ISO 14732:2013 and ASME IX, among others.
